I have created 2 reports, 1st report in the main section, second report in the trailer section,
both the report have 3 pages, so total six pages,

for example: main section pages 1,2,3
trailer section pages 4,5,6

well when i run the report its currently printing like 1,2,3,4,5,6

but i need to print like 1,4,2,5,3,6 vice versa!

how to achieve this ?

As far as I can tell, Reports can't do that. If you want to print data in a specific order, you have to develop a report so that it reflects your needs.

The way it is now, you can only specify those pages in "Print" dialog, within its "Print range", you'd switch from "All" to "Pages" and put 1,4,2,5,3,6 in there. Then, hope that print driver is stupid enough so that it doesn't "understand" that it is, actually, 1,2,3,4,5,6 and spoils print order.

I have attached the pdf which is generated for an example,
well it has 32 pages (16 * 2 ).

16 for the letter and 16 for the data,

here 17th page should be displayed in 2nd page!

like 1,17, 2,18 and so on..........

because the continuity is like that only, not 1,2,3,.....32

Aha, OK then. Here's how I'd do that (in a brand new report):
  • I'd put both "letter" and "data" into the Main section
  • In Data Model, create 2 queries: one for "letter", one for "data"
  • Let Wizard create layout. It will be ugly, but will put "letter" first and "data" next
  • Run the report and verify whether layout looks OK. If so, fine - all you have to do is to make it pretty (because it already works). If not, then
  • stretch "letter" repeating frame so that it contains both "letter" and "data" objects. In order to do that easily, group "data" objects first because you might have to adjust what's in the background for ages and experience numerous runtime errors.
  • That, I believe, should do the job

I think that you don't need two queries (in Data Model); one is enough. However, you'll need two repeating frames, and both of them will have the same source group (i.e. the one that belongs to that, single, query).

Yes, like that only i have put as you mentioned,
single query and 2 repeating frames in main-section.

Properties for the Repeating frame 1:
Print object on : first page

Properties for the Repeating frame 2:
Print object on : first page

but its not working! again the same thing continues...

That would mean that you need to do the "if not ..." part of my previous message. The way it is now, Reports first displays all data that belongs to the first repeating frame, and then all data that belongs to the second repeating frame.

You want to display one record from the first repeating frame and corresponding data from the second repeating frame.

Therefore, let the first repeating frame enclose all objects that belong to the second repeating frame (I mean everything that belongs to the second data set, everything!, including all frames, all fields, text ... everything.
