Hello Respected Sir,


I just want to try on report builder tool to create one simple report.
So first i create one table in employee schema and then create simple report using select query.
as per oracle document suggest next i when i create page layout for that report and click on insert->Report block for pagelayout it give this type of error

REP-1258 Group G1 has no columns

i did not understand whats wrong in this whole scenario?

anyone suggest or guide me

As Reports Builder told you, a group has to have at least one field.

It seems that you are a new Reports user. I'd suggest you to use Report Wizard to create reports. I've been working with that tool for a long time, and I can't remember that I ever did it manually. Why would I bother, when Wizard creates everything I need. Then it is a matter of redesigning it (moving objects here or there), but the majority is already done for me.

yes sir i am very new to report builder

one of document mention that choice so i go for that but when i used report wizard report easily created without any innteruption thanx a lot for guidence

Well, there's nothing wrong in doing it manually (you might learn quite a lot if you take that approach), but it will take some time and effort.
